day one
5/14/15
After we got through customs we loaded up two of those big white vans and headed out to lunch. The drive was about 40 minutes to our lunch spot which was at a place called Amigos. It had a variety of food, mainly Mexican with also some Italian items too. I ordered the fajitas which were a little spicier than I expected but really good. Whenever we get drinks it is best to get bottled water or soft drinks in case the water they use is not filtered. Since we are not used to the different microorganisms in their water it is better to play it safe than get sick.
After lunch we loaded back into the vans and headed to Hot Mamas Hot Sauce Factory. Today we just visited the gift shop section of it, but we will go back another time to have a tour of the garden area.
When we finished up there we headed to where we are staying for the next 10 nights. We crossed a wooden floating bridge to get to the area we will mainly be working in. The log cab-inns ended up being way better than expected. There is a pool and the rooms are three people to a room and bathroom. We will mainly just be sleeping in the rooms anyways because out days will be pretty full. We ate dinner by the pool which ended up by chance being fajitas again.
